چکیده

Technical Appendix Figure. Major structural features of plasmid pK351 indicated with bold type, compared with closely related blaNDM-1-positive plasmid pNDM-Ec1GN574 (KJ812998), pKOX_NDM1 KP826710.1). Light gray shades indicate shared regions with a high degree of homology. ORFs are portrayed by arrows and colored according to their putative functions. Dark-blue arrows indicate replication associated genes. Genes associated with plasmid conjugal transfer are indicated by green arrows, and genes involved in plasmid stability are indicated by brown arrows. Red and yellow arrows indicate antimicrobial resistance genes and mobile elements genes, respectively. Grey arrows indicate genes for hypothetical proteins as well as proteins of unknown function.

New Delhi Metallo-β-Lactamase–producing Enterobacteriaceae, United States

We characterized 9 New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (5 Klebsiella pneumoniae, 2 Escherichia coli, 1 Enterobacter cloacae, 1 Salmonella enterica serovar Senftenberg) isolates identified in the United States and cultured from 8 patients in 5 states during April 2009-March 2011. Isolates were resistant to β-lactams, fluoroquinolones, and aminoglycosides, demonstrated MICs...

New Delhi Metallo-β-Lactamase in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli, Canada

Multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli isolates harboring New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase (NDM-1) were isolated from a patient who had returned to Canada from India. The NDM-1 gene was found on closely related incompatibility group A/C type plasmids. The occurrence of NDM-1 in North America is a major public health concern.

New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates in hospitalized patients in Kashan, Iran

Background and Objectives New Delhi metallo-ß-lactamase (NDM) is a newly emerging metallo-ß-lactamases, which can destroy all β-lactams including carbapenems. Therefore, this study aimed at evaluating New Delhi metallo-ß-lactamase-1-production in clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae in Kashan, Iran. Materials and Methods In a cross-sectional study, 181 K. pneumoniae isolates were collec...

Draft Genome Sequence of NDM-1-Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae Clinical Isolate 303K

Multidrug-resistant New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase 1 (NDM-1)-producing bacteria have spread globally and become a major clinical and public health threat. We report here the draft genome sequence of the Klebsiella pneumoniae clinical isolate 303K, harboring an NDM-1 coding sequence.

Emergence of New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM-1) and Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC-2) in South Africa.

This report documents emergence of New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM-1) and Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC-2) in K. pneumoniae and Enterobacter cloacae in South Africa. NDM-1 producers have not been described in South Africa, and this is the first instance that KPC producers have been identified in Africa. The two patients infected with these carbapenemase-producing bacteria demised.
